Considered Questions
The questions mothers actually ask.
I don’t live near the practice — how does this even work?
It starts with a private virtual consultation from wherever you are — no travel required to find out if you’re a candidate. Only once you’re ready to move forward is a date, and a trip, arranged: your surgery, a recovery-stay suite, and local transport, planned together as one package.
Who arranges my recovery-stay and getting around once I’m here?
We do, as part of your all-inclusive figure. A comfortable private recovery-stay suite near the practice, and local transport to and from the airport, the practice and your suite, are coordinated for you — arranged, not left for you to book. Exact arrangements vary by circumstance and are confirmed with the practice.
What if I’m not ready to travel home on the day we planned?
You don’t fly home on a fixed date regardless of how you’re healing. Dr. Marchand reviews you in person before you travel back and confirms you’re ready for the journey; if that takes a little longer, your recovery-stay is extended rather than rushed.
Who’ll take care of my kids while I’m away?
For mothers who travel in, this is often the first practical question, and it’s discussed candidly at your virtual consultation. Many mothers arrange for family or a partner to manage things at home for the recovery-stay window — the honest timeline helps you plan that well in advance, not the week before you fly.
Can breastfeeding come before or after?
Yes — timing matters. It’s generally best to wait until you’ve finished nursing and your breasts have settled (often several months after weaning) before a breast procedure, so the result is planned on your true shape. As for feeding future babies, that’s discussed candidly at your virtual consultation as part of the plan.
I had a C-section. Does that change anything?
Often for the better. Where possible the existing caesarean scar can be worked with — incorporated into the tummy-tuck incision rather than added to. It’s reviewed openly at consultation so nothing about your history is a surprise on the day.
Will it last if I have another baby?
A future pregnancy can undo the result, which is exactly why timing is part of the plan. If you may have more children, the honest recommendation is usually to wait — and you’ll hear that plainly rather than be booked anyway.
Can’t I just fix the belly pouch with more core work?
Often not. A pouch that survives diet and exercise is frequently diastasis — separated abdominal muscle — which planks and crunches physically cannot knit back together. A tummy tuck repairs the muscle itself; that’s the difference, and why effort alone rarely finishes the job.
What will it cost, and can it be financed?
A complete, all-inclusive figure is prepared for you transparently at your virtual consultation, once a plan is designed for your case — one number covering surgeon, anaesthesia, facility, your recovery-stay, local transport and follow-ups. Financing is available (reference from about $142/mo), a reservation can begin with a modest hold, and payments can start after your recovery. The soft-check doesn’t affect your credit.
How do I know if I’m even a candidate?
The short candidacy & readiness review on this page, answered from wherever you are, gives a considered first read in about a minute. It isn’t a diagnosis — a board-certified surgeon confirms candidacy, and the right timing, at your complimentary virtual consultation.
